Santa Caterina Valfurva is the eco-friendly resort!
 
Since 2008, Santa Caterina Valfurva is heated thanks to a biomass thermal power.
 
The heat is produced by:

• Material from cleaning and maintenance of forests (branches, leaves, barks);
• Leftovers of sawmills' working (sawdust and scraps);
• Urban pruning;
• Residues from mowing-time;

This innovative heating system is designed to protect the environment by reducing emissions of fumes into the atmosphere and to use renewable energy sources.
