Santa Caterina Valfurva features several stunning itineraries which are just perfect for cross-country skiing enthusiasts.
Valtellina track is structured along a wide plain and thick woods at an altitude of 1800 m. It is characterized by 5 and 10 km rings and ups and downs between 190 m and 390 m of altitude. The track shows original technical solutions and a demanding slope: they are much appreciated by the most experienced cross-country skiers. Of course Santa Caterina is excellence for everyone: next to the competitive track there is an easier track with 2, 3 and 5 km rings. It’s just perfect and accessible for beginners too.
If you need equipment or ski lessons, the Centro Fondo Santa Caterina, located at the start of the Valtellina track, offers various dedicated services. At Noleggio La Fonte, you can find a wide range of ski gear for all ages and levels, as well as waxing services and the cross-country ski school, while the Sala Tresero Sporting Center provides maximum convenience with changing rooms, public restrooms, and luggage storage with security lockers.

The famous Valtellina Track, situated at an altitude of 1800 m, is a premier venue for international competitions and numerous World Cup events. It offers a great variety of routes ranging from 5 km to 10 km, with climbs and descents featuring vertical drops between 190 m and 390 m. Designed under the supervision of Benito Moriconi, coach of the Italian national cross-country ski team, it is characterized by a very challenging descent that will thrill even the most expert skiers.

Located at the start of the Valtellina track, the center boasts a team of qualified instructors who have passionately managed the ski rental, technical assistance, and waxing services at the Cross-Country Ski Center for years. The instructors are available to all guests for private lessons, group courses, competitive training, and refinement of both classic and skating techniques.
